This week we are exploring photos for a flyer. we have to take photos with the intent to make it into a poster. we need negative space for the words "sxu research expo" it will include a date and time for the event. the subject has to depict some sort of research happening. nature shots are preferred and humans have to be justified as doing research. we need 10 final photos and 3 finals printed on 11 x 17.

wood print transfer
we were tasked with transferring photos to wood slabs. first we printed the image on paper the size of the wood slab. we then transferred the image by using golden liquitex. we let it sit overnight to dry. the next day we had to wet it with water. once the image on the wood was damp we rubbed the paper off leaving only the image transferred on the wood. these were my results. for a glossy finish we wiped the image down with polyurethane.

Pictorialism and Post
This week we needed to craft 10 photos that demonstrated pictorialist qualities.
Pictorialism was a movement in photography that aimed to prove photography can be art as well.
I researched Alfred Stieglitz and Paul Strands styles of making art with photography. Through their examples I began to craft my photos.
We also had to post process each image. We had a number of resources to post process, mainly photoshop. We also had to print a image distort it and then rescan it to see how it was effected.
