urban/street photography

hit up the downtown scene of chicago to do a photoshoot of the city.
i drove downtown and had very little time to catch the sun set as it was about 7oclock. i mainly focused on michigan ave and the taller skyscrapers. i focused on getting the skyline and capturing the nice architecture of the city.

make believe

So check it, We had to create moments of something fake and make it look real and vise versa. We had to do tilt shift and in the second lesson place a figure in a gallery.

We photographed some model galleries and had to photograph ourselves and place them in the gallery to make it look like the person was attending thr gallery.

After photographing the jmages i went to photoshop to transpose them.

The titlt shift was the hardest for me in that i had to shoot a angle from above which really sells the tilt shift effect.

tilt shift

first round gathering up photos to create a tilt shift effect. these photo dont really work because i need a certain angle to sell the effect. the angle in these needed to be a downward view almost like a birds eye view.

light exposure

we opened our shutter up on our cameras for a long time. any where longer than one second and the light starts to expose the scene in unexpected ways. i focused on painting with light in my sets of images. i like the elegant stream of captured light.

double exposure practice

Went for a double exposure here. the effect plays heavily on shadows and highlights. we had to shoot a subject on a bright background. next we overlayed an image onto the high contrast image. if the effect is done right the second image should show through the shadows of the first.
